Field Properties

Field Properties in Axonator come with a range of configurable properties that allow for extensive configuration and control over data collection. These properties can be broadly categorized as follows:

  1. Basic Configuration:
    • Label: Allows renaming of form elements for clear identification.
    • Required: Makes fields mandatory for form completion.
    • Unique Identifier: Provides a distinct reference for each field.
  2. Data Input Control:
    • Input Type: Specifies the type of data allowed (e.g., text, email, numeric).
    • Choices: Defines options for selection in choice lists.
    • Multiple Selection: Enables selection of multiple options in choice lists.
    • Mask: Controls input format for specific data types.
  3. Visibility and Validity:
    • Visibility Conditions: Determines when a field should be displayed based on other inputs.
    • Validity Conditions: Sets rules for when input is considered valid.
    • Hidden: Allows fields to be invisible to users but still functional.
  4. Data Presentation:
    • Case: Formats text input (e.g., uppercase, lowercase).
    • Default Text/Choice: Pre-fills fields with specified values.
    • Unit: Adds units of measurement to numeric fields.
    • Widget Layout: Controls how fields are displayed (one-line or two-line layout).
  5. Advanced Features:
    • Copy Field: Allows data to be copied between forms in multi-form workflows.
    • Repopulate Value: Automatically fills fields with previously entered data.
    • Generate Public URL: Creates accessible links for uploaded photos.
    • Allow Barcode/QR Code Search: Enables scanning for quick data entry.
  6. Group Header Specific:
    • Sticky Group: Keeps group headers visible while scrolling.
    • Subtype and Initial Display Mode: Controls collapsibility of grouped fields.
  7. Photo and Signature Specific:
    • Include Note: Allows notes to be added to photo annotations.
    • Show Timestamp: Displays capture time on photos.
    • Is this field searchable?: Determines if the field can be used in list filters.
