App User Roles and Access Permissions

Every app user has at least one app role assigned to them. This is done to define the actions they can perform within that specific app. The actions that a user can perform with the role they are assigned is determined by the permissions provided for that role.

The permissions that a role can have are –

  1. ALL_TASKS – Users with this permission can View any task that is assigned to any app user.
  2. ALL_ASSIGNED_TASKS – Users with this permission can only view those tasks that are specifically assigned to them.
  3. ASSIGNED_OBJECT_TASKS – Users with this permission can only view the tasks which are assigned on the objects accessible to them.

A user can only complete the tasks which are assigned to them.

Axonator has two app roles

  1. App Admin – App admins have full privileges of the app. They can create and assign tasks to other users.
  2. Object Collector – Users who are assigned this role can create new objects in the app. They can only complete the tasks that are assigned to them.

To create a new role –

  • Visit builder.axonator.com.
  • Open the app in which you wish to create a new User Role.
  • Click on “Use”, and “Roles” under that.
  • Click on the “Create Role” button on the top right corner.
  • Enter the Role Title, Description (optional) and provide the permissions you wish to grant the user who will be assigned that role.
  • You can now assign that role to any existing/new user belonging to that particular app.
