Axonator Terminology

Form

Axonator allows you to create various types of forms, such as Data Collection Forms, Object Forms, and Action Forms, to capture and manage data related to different processes, objects, and tasks.

Reports

Axonator provides reporting capabilities, allowing you to generate reports based on the data collected through forms. These reports can be customized and formatted to suit your needs.

Dashboards

Axonator offers dashboard functionality, which enables you to visualize and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant data in a centralized and interactive manner.

Container Apps

Axonator provides the ability to create container apps, which are essentially self-contained applications that can be deployed and used without the need for separate app store submissions, as they are already available within the Axonator platform.

Workflows and Actions

Axonator supports creating workflows by defining a series of actions that need to be performed. These actions can be associated with forms, such as assigning tasks or triggering events based on specific conditions.

Container Apps

Axonator provides the ability to create container apps, which are essentially self-contained applications that can be deployed and used without the need for separate app store submissions, as they are already available within the Axonator platform.

Integration

Integration means connecting or integrating the Axonator system with any other third-party software or applications, such as SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, cloud services, and many more. This allows for seamless data exchange and communication between Axonator and these external systems.

Connection

A connection refers to the established link or bridge between two systems, such as Axonator and a third-party application. It enables data transfer and communication between the connected systems, facilitating integration and data synchronization.

Elements

In the context of the Report Builder, elements are the various components or building blocks used to create and design reports. These include labels, images, tables, and other graphical or textual elements that help structure and present information within the report.

Object Form

An Object Form is a type of form designed specifically to collect information about a particular object, such as a machine, equipment, plant, or any other physical or conceptual entity. These forms are tailored to capture relevant data related to the object in question, making it easier to manage and track information associated with that object.

Web Container

The web container is a part of the Axonator web platform (web.axonator.com). When users log in to the web application, they can access and view the applications (apps) they have created or have access to within the web container.

Mobile App

A mobile app, in the context of Axonator, refers to the applications or apps that users have created and can access through the Axonator mobile application. These mobile apps are designed to be used on mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, providing users with a convenient way to access and interact with their Axonator applications on the go.

Organization

In Axonator, an organization represents a group or entity that users can be associated with. A single user can be a part of different organizations, and they can switch between these organizations using the option typically located in the top-right corner of the user interface. This feature allows users to manage and access applications and data specific to the selected organization, enabling collaboration and shared access within each organization.

Data Collection Form

Data Collection Form is a form that you can build using Axonator to collect various types of data. You can build data collection forms for a number of tasks and processes.

Example: A form created to record the inspection process is a data collection form.

Action Form

An action form is created whenever there is an action to be taken on any specific object. Action forms are created for object forms. You can assign further tasks to different people using an action form. To do that, you need to create a workflow.

Example: If your object is an Air Conditioner. This object can have various action forms like inspection, maintenance, etc. These action forms can be assigned to different people.

Action Verb

An action verb is a verb that describes an action. You can write any Action Verb for this property like Fill.

Task Description

Task Description is the brief information about the Task/Action Activity. This will help the Assigned Person to what is the task about.
For Ex. Fill Inspection Form.

Allow ad hoc

Allow ad hoc property is used to enable or disable the “Ad Hoc” submissions for that Action.
Possible inputs: Yes/No
Default value: Yes

Third-Party App

A third-party app refers to an application or software developed and maintained by an entity other than Axonator. These external applications can be integrated with Axonator using APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to enable data exchange and communication between the systems.

Tabular Report

A tabular report displays data in a structured table format, with rows and columns. It presents descriptive statistics or information in a tabular layout, enabling users to view and update multiple rows of data at once from a single page. Tabular data is structured in a way that each row represents an entity or record, and each column represents a specific property or attribute of that entity.

Graphical Report

Graphical reports, also known as visual reports, incorporate graphical elements such as charts or graphs to present data in a visually appealing and more easily understandable manner. These reports enhance usability by displaying data graphically, making it easier to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within the data.

Email Report

An email report refers to a report or document that can be sent via email. In Axonator, users can create email templates using the Report Builder, which can then be used to generate and send reports or notifications through email. This feature allows for automated report distribution or sharing of information with stakeholders or specific recipients.

Workflow

A workflow is a series of defined steps or actions that need to be performed in a specific order to achieve a particular goal or complete a process. In Axonator, users can configure workflows associated with forms in their applications. These configured workflows allow users to modify and customize the app’s behavior and functions to align with their specific business requirements or use cases. Workflows help automate and streamline processes by defining the sequence of actions and integrating various components or systems as needed.
