Generate Advanced QR Codes

 We are here to walk you through the process of generating Advanced QR codes in Axonator.

The advanced QR codes are used  for automatically selecting an object and opening an action form in the Axonator mobile app.

The advanced QR codes contain the information of the object as well as the action to be performed on that object after the QR code is scanned. So you get one QR code for each of your object registered in this app. These codes allow field users to quickly scan and access the right forms with pre-populated object data.

Prerequisites

Before generating Advanced QR codes, ensure you have:

• An Object form created in your app – examples: Equipment, Asset, Location, etc.
• An Action form created in your app – examples: Inspection, Maintenance, Audit, etc.
• All your objects (equipments/assets/locations/etc) registered in this system.

Step 1: Create Your Object Form

1. Go to the Form Builder section in your app
2. Select “Create  Form”
3. Choose “Object Form” as the form type
4. Add necessary fields to capture object information (e.g., equipment ID, name, expiry date)
5. Save your object form

Step 2: Create Your Action Form

1. Return to your Forms list
2. Create another form using the “Create Form” option
3. Choose “Action Form” as the form type
4. IMPORTANT: Select the previously created Object Form as the Object for this Action
5. Add necessary fields for the action (e.g., inspection checklist items, audit questions, photos, signature)
6. Save the Action form

Step 3: Publish Your App

1. Click “Publish App” to make your app available for use in mobile and web app.
2. Verify the app status shows as “Published”.

Step 4: Add Objects to the System

1. Download and open the Axonator mobile app from Play Store or App Store
2. Select the Object Form you created
3. Fill out the form for each object you want to track (e.g., each piece of equipment or each site)
4. Submit the forms to register your objects in the system

Step 5: Generate Advanced QR Codes

1. Log in to the Axonator web app at https://web.axonator.com
2. Navigate to the list of objects submissions
3. Select objects form the list for which you want to generate  QR codes
4. Select “Generate  QR Codes”
5. Choose the Action Form that will be opened after scan
6. Configure field mapping:
   • Select fields to be auto-populated from the object into the action being performed
   • Add any additional static values that should be pre-filled in your action form

Step 6: Set Delivery Options

1. Enter the email address where the QR codes should be sent
2. Click “Generate QR Codes”
3. Wait for confirmation that your QR codes have been generated and sent over email

Step 7: Use Your QR Codes

1. Download and open the QR codes from your email

1. Open Axonator app on your mobile device and scan a QR code

1. When scanned, the app will:

• Automatically identify and select the object
• Open the correct action form
• Pre-populate fields with the mapped values

1. You can continue filling the rest of the action form and submit

Step 8: Print  QR codes

1. Print the QR codes and place them in appropriate locations (on equipment, at sites, etc.)

1. Add your field users  to the app from https://builder.axonator.com

1. Field users can now scan these codes using the Axonator mobile app

Troubleshooting

• If QR codes don’t arrive, check your spam folder or verify the email address used
• Ensure your app is properly published before generating QR codes
• Verify that objects have been added to the system before attempting to generate QR codes
• Make sure field users have the latest version of the Axonator mobile app installed
