Single line vs multiline layout

Single Line Layout: Concept

The Single Line layout in Axonator is a form design approach where the field prompt and input area are presented horizontally on the same line. In this concept:

  • The prompt or question appears on the left side of the field
  • The corresponding input area is positioned directly to the right of the prompt
  • This creates a compact, horizontal arrangement for each form field

This layout is particularly useful for forms with short prompts, allowing for efficient use of screen space and the ability to display more fields simultaneously.

Multiline Layout: Concept

The Multiline layout in Axonator is a form builder approach where the field prompt and input area are stacked vertically. In this concept:

  • The prompt or question appears above the input area
  • The corresponding input area is positioned below the prompt
  • This creates a vertical arrangement for each form field

This layout is ideal for forms with longer prompts or those requiring more detailed instructions. It provides clear separation between the question and answer space, allowing for better readability and comprehension of complex fields. The Multiline layout offers more flexibility for displaying additional information or guidance for each field.

Both concepts in Axonator’s form design allow for configurable of the user interface, enabling form creators to choose the most appropriate layout based on the nature of the information being collected and the preferences of the end-users.
