Axonator’s graphical report builder lets you create highly engaging and simple to understand data visualizations.

The options for creating data visualizations include

  • Pie charts
  • Donut charts
  • Vertical and Horizontal bar graphs
  • Stacked vertical and Horizontal bar graphs
  • Line graphs
  • Counter cards

You can drag one or more of these onto the canvas and customize its properties and style.

To create any chart

  • Navigate to the analytical reports builder.
  • Create or open an existing graphical report.
  • Drag and drop a chart / graph on the canvas as per your choice.
  • Once you have an empty chart on the canvas, can you drag and drop a form field into the area of the chart/graph on the canvas.
  • This will instantly set the property for that chart/graph.
  • You can adjust the properties of the chosen form field and set a style for the graph as well.
  • If required, you can also apply filters to the chart/graph to view the precise data on your dashboard.

Property customizations include

  • Setting the Metric –
    • A metric is a quantitative measurement of data. In most cases, the metric will be represented on the Y axis of the data being represented on a graph.
    • You can choose from – min, max, avg, sum, count, and unique count for every widget that you wish to display in your graphical report.
    • There can be more than one metric set for a graph. Pie and donut charts accept a singular metric only.
  • Setting the Dimension –
    • Dimension is a categorical attribute used to segment data. It is typically represented on the X axis of the graph.
    • Any field that you drag and drop into the graph gets set as the metric and dimension by default. However, you can also drag other form fields and set it as the dimension of your graph.
    • Please note – Only one dimension can be set for a graph. The dimension field is not available for charts and counter cards.

Style customizations include

  • Setting the colors –
    • You can set the background color for each visualization individually.
    • You can set the color for the bars, slices of the pie chart etc. completely as per your liking.
    • You can set the color of the font for the labels, legends and titles as well.
  • Customizing the font properties –
    • All font standard properties such as size, underline, italics, font style, weight, etc. can be set as per your preference.

    • You can separately customize the appearance of the legend of the chart/graph.
  • Customizing the appearance of labels, axis, grid of the chart/graph
