Inline vs. Wizard

Inline Layout

Think of Inline layout as a single, scrollable page containing all your checklist items. Here’s what you need to know:

  • All questions or tasks are visible on one screen
  • Users can jump between items freely
  • Great for getting a quick overview of the entire checklist

When to use Inline:

  • For shorter checklists (typically under 10-15 items)
  • When items don’t need to be completed in a specific order
  • If your users are familiar with the process and prefer quick access

Wizard Layout

The Wizard layout breaks your checklist into a series of screens or steps. Key points:

  • Presents one question or a small group of related questions per screen
  • Users move through the checklist step-by-step
  • Ideal for guiding users through a process

When to use Wizard:

  • For longer or more complex checklists
  • When items need to be completed in a specific sequence
  • If you want to ensure users carefully consider each item
