How to escalate task?

Task escalation is a crucial feature in workflow management that ensures tasks are handled efficiently by the right people. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up task escalation in the Axonator platform.

  1. Access the Axonator Platform

    • Open your web browser and navigate to app.axonator.com
    • Log in with your user ID and password
    • Select the app in which you want to add the task escalation feature
  2. Navigate to the Workflow Builder

    • Look for the left section of the dashboard
    • Find and click on the “Workflow Builder” option
  3. Select or Create a Workflow

    • Choose an existing workflow where you want to add task escalation, or
    • Create a new workflow by clicking on the appropriate button
  4. Add the Assign Task Action

    • In the left panel of the Workflow Builder, locate the “Assign Task” action
    • Drag and drop this action onto the canvas
    • Connect it to the relevant part of your existing workflow
  5. Configure the Assign Task Action

    • Select the “Assign Task” action you just added to your workflow
    • Look at the right section of the screen to find the properties panel
  6. Set Up Task Escalation

    • In the properties panel, find the “Task Assignment Policy” setting
    • Select “Task Escalation Users” from the available options
    • This setting enables the task to be escalated to a group of users
  7. Choose Escalation Group

    • Below the Task Assignment Policy, locate the “Assign to which role” option
    • From the dropdown menu, select the group of people to whom you want to escalate the task
    • This could be a specific department, management level, or custom group you’ve set up
  8. Save Your Changes

    • Once you’ve configured the task escalation settings, remember to save your workflow

Important Notes

  • Ensure that the group you select for escalation has the necessary permissions to handle the task
  • Consider setting up notification rules to alert the escalation group when a task is assigned to them
  • Test the workflow thoroughly before implementing it in a live environment
