How to Create a Tabular/Excel Report?

Tabular or Excel-like reports in Axonator allow you to present your data in a structured, easy-to-read format. This guide will walk you through the process of creating a Tabular/Excel Report.

  1. Access Axonator Builder

    • Open your web browser and navigate to builder.axonator.com
    • Log in using your credentials
  2. Select the Relevant App

    • After logging in, you’ll see a list of apps
    • Choose the app for which you want to create the Tabular/Excel Report
  3. Navigate to Analytical Reports

    • Once in the app, look for the menu on the left section
    • Find and click on ‘Analytical Reports’ in menu
  4. Enable Reporting

    • On the Analytical Reports page, you’ll see an ‘Enable Reporting’ option
    • Click on this to activate the reporting feature for your app
  5. Refresh the Page

    • After enabling reporting, refresh the page
    • This ensures that the new changes take effect
  6. Initiate Report Creation

    • After refreshing, you should see a ‘Create Report’ button
  7. Choose Report Type

    • You’ll be presented with two options: Graphical and Tabular
    • Select ‘Tabular’ to create your Excel-like report
  8. Design Your Report

    • You’ll now see a canvas where you can design your report
    • On the left section, you’ll find a list of available fields
  9. Add Fields to Your Report

    • Drag and drop the desired fields from the left section onto the canvas
    • As you drop each field, it will automatically generate a column in your report
  10. Arrange and configure Columns

    • Reorder columns by dragging them to your preferred positions
    • Adjust column widths as needed
  11. Apply Filters and Sorting 

    • Look for options to add filters to your report
    • Set up sorting preferences for your data
  12. Save Your Report

    • Once you’re satisfied with your Tabular/Excel Report, save your work

  • Ensure that you include all necessary fields in your report
  • Consider the order of your columns for logical data presentation
  • Remember that you can always come back and edit your report later
