Elements

The elements described in this document are essentially tools available on the left side panel of the report builder interface. These tools can be easily dragged and dropped onto the central canvas area to configure and build custom document reports.

Elements of the Report Builder

  1. Label The Label element allows you to insert text labels into your report. These labels can be utilized to display names, addresses, or any field fetched from a form. They serve as the building blocks for textual communication within your reports.
  2. Properties If you wish to format a label, you can access the properties from the right panel. Simply click and select the label you want to modify, and the properties panel will reveal a range of formatting options. For instance, if you want to make a label bold and increase its size, you can adjust the font size and apply other text formatting styles from the properties panel.
  3. Image Incorporating images into your reports is a breeze with the Image element. To upload an image, such as your brand logo, drag the Image element from the left panel (Tools) onto the canvas. Hover over the dropped image, and you’ll see an upload image icon at the bottom. Click on that icon and select your desired image from your file system.
  4. Resizing Images Once an image is added, you can resize its height and width directly from the properties panel. This feature ensures that your images fit perfectly within the layout of your report.
  5. Table The Table element allows you to organize data in a structured and comprehensible manner. Drag the Table element onto the canvas and configure the desired number of columns and rows. To add or remove rows and columns, simply click on the table and make the necessary adjustments.
  6. Link If you want to include a specific link within your document report, you can add it using the Link element. By default, the link will display the text “Click here,” but you can change it by modifying the properties. Additionally, you can insert the desired URL directly into the properties panel.
  7. Rich Text Editor (RTE) The Rich Text Editor (RTE) is a powerful element that enables you to set up long-form text with precise formatting within your report. With the RTE, you can type text, insert images, and add links. Furthermore, you can leverage various formatting options such as bold, italics, alignment, and lists to enhance the visual appeal of your text.
  8. Properties of RTE The properties panel allows you to customize the dimensions and border of the RTE element, including adjusting the size, border type, and color.
  9. Splitting Columns To split your report into multiple columns, simply click on the Split icon. This action will divide the entire row into two or more columns, as shown in the image below. Once the columns are split, you can resize them by dragging the dotted line either left or right, allowing you to configure the desired column layout.
  10. Template Layouts The document designer provides a range of template layouts that you can configure by arranging elements such as images, tables, labels, and more within the split columns.
  11. Form Fields To incorporate form data into your report, switch to the Form Fields tab in the left panel. Here, you’ll find a list of all the forms in your app. Expand the desired form, and you’ll see its respective fields. Drag and drop the field you want onto the designer area, positioning it where you wish the field’s value to appear in your report. You can adjust the field area’s height and width to accommodate the potential length of the field’s value once the form is filled out.
