Assign to Random Available User from a Specific Role

In the workflow builder, there are scenarios where you may want to assign a task to any available user from a specific role, rather than assigning it to a specific individual. This can be useful when you want to distribute tasks evenly among a group of users with the same role, or when the task doesn’t require any specific user’s expertise.
The workflow builder offers a feature called “Task Assignment Policy” that allows you to achieve this functionality.

Setting the policy to “Random User from role”, the workflow builder will automatically assign the task to a random available user from that role whenever the task step is reached during the workflow execution.

This feature can help distribute workload evenly among team members with the same role, ensuring that no single user is overwhelmed with tasks. It also introduces an element of randomness, which can be beneficial in scenarios where task assignment shouldn’t be based on a predefined order.

By leveraging the “Random User from role” feature and configuring it with the desired properties, the workflow builder empowers you to assign tasks to random available users from a specific role, streamlining your workflow processes and enabling efficient task distribution.
