Apply Filters in Graphical and Tabular Reports

Axonator’s analytical report builder allows you to apply fully customized data filters easily.

Within the graphical and report builder, two kinds of filters exist, namely –

  1. Global Filter – this filter gets applied to all the graphs/charts/tables present on the canvas. You can use global filters to quickly apply the same condition to all the data across all data visualizations of that particular report.

    To apply a global filter

  • Navigate to the analytical reports section inside an app on builder.axonator.com.
  • Once you have opened a new/existing report, locate the filter icon on the top left corner of the screen.
  • Select the form field/s on which you wish to apply the filter.
  • Next, select the data entries you wish to see for the form field/s selected.
  • Click on the apply button and the filter will be instantly applied to all the components of your report.
  1. Local Filter – This filter can be applied to each of the graphs or charts of the report individually. This allows you to specifically select what data you wish to display for the particular visualization on your dashboard.

    To apply a local filter

  • Navigate to the analytical reports section inside an app on builder.axonator.com.
  • Once you have opened a new/existing report, locate the filter icon on the top left corner of the specific chart/graph/table on which you wish to apply the filter. (in case of a new report, drag and drop items on canvas first).
  • Select the form field/s on which you wish to apply the filter.
  • Next, select the data entries you wish to see for the form field/s selected.
  • Click on the apply button and the filter will be instantly applied to the specific component of your report.

You can apply global as well as local filters on the same components of the report. The systematic approach to doing so would be to apply the global filter first, followed by the local filter to the graph, chart, or table after.
